Shad Valley is an award-winning program of Shad International, a not-for-profit educational organization that is based upon the values of CREATIVITY, EXCELLENCE, COMMUNITY, DIVERSITY, and RESPONSIBILITY. Participants are high potential senior high school students, selected for their remarkable academic capabilities, as well as their community involvement, and creativity. At the Carleton University Shad Valley program, we host 52 students from across the world (THIS YEAR, PARTICIPANTS CAME FROM CANADA, CHINA AND U.S.A.) for the month of July.
At Shad Valley we nurture their initiative, skills, values, and desire to solve important problems, while challenging them to meet the highest standards of ethical conduct, social responsibility, and environmental sustainability. The Shad Valley programs build on an academic foundation of mathematics, science, engineering, and entrepreneurship to develop intellectual excellence in our students. These are the tools they will use to excel and to innovate, during the programs and in their futures.
Carleton University is honored to have hosted the Shad Valley Program since 1989.
