[Poll] URGENT MESSAGE / MESSAGE URGENT
About this event: 4th World Youth Congress - Quebec City 2008

Translations available in: English (original) | French | Spanish | Italian | German | Portuguese | Swedish | Russian | Dutch | Arabic

Hello dear members,
Salut chers membres du naufrage !

I STRONGLY ENCOURAGE you to take part to my initiative to elaborate a POEM that never ends about CULTURE, POETRY, DIVERSITY, CLIMATE CHANGE AND ALL THE ISSUES THAT YOUTH ARE PASSIONATE ABOUT. The purpose is to promote cultural exchanges and cultural diversity through art.

Thanks for your participation, our collective poem will be more and more rich. My long-term aim is to promote this poem among Guinness World Records !

Thanks to everyone's help, our poem - entitled "HIGHLY POETRY " - will become a great success.

LET US CELEBRATE OUR CULTURES THROUGH POETRY AND AT THE SAME TIME CELEBRATE POETRY !

Celebrating cultural diversity through dialogue across cultures gives us a greater understanding of other lifestyles, thoughts, traditions and behaviours. We can learn to see the world from other people's perspectives and overcome any intolerance to other cultures we may have had. The more we learn about each other's culture, the more hope we have to understand each other and cooperate. With greater cooperation we can hope for harmony and peace in the world.

My CLC Engagement in Montreal

I read the whole Trip Report written by Mai Ngo. Really interesting to see that the other members of CLC are enjoying their job and working towards change.
Good job everyone ! Hope your activities this month are exciting !

About my engagement with CLC, I am going to co-facilitate a climate change workshop in Maisonneuve Cegep (Cégep de Maisonneuve) probably next week (next Thursday or Friday), and I will seize the opportunity to promote TakingITGlobal to Francophone students and Francophone youth in Quebec. So this will help to develop francophone membership as an offline-engagement. Next Friday, I am also going to Alternatives again to make sure that they are promoting TakingITGlobal in their website as well as in their networks.

My CLC January Report !
Related to this project: Creating Local Connections Canada/Liaisons locales Canada

Translations available in: English (original) | French | Spanish | Italian | German | Portuguese | Swedish | Russian | Dutch | Arabic

Hello all CLC YECs and OCCs,

First of all, I hope that you are all enjoying the new year, and that your regional TIG work is going extremely well.

This last month has been a very exciting one out here in Montreal, as it has been really full of events, networking meetings, and the development of new partnerships.

Concerning new partnerships, I am developing now a partnership with Alternatives (http://www.alternatives.ca/), a non-governmental, international solidarity organization that offers Youth Internship Programs and which is an active actor present and in touch with the world.

I also contacted Iciéla (http://www.iciela.org/), "un organisme à but non lucratif basé à Montréal, Québec, Canada." In brief, it is an organization that fights for a world of peace where each individual can be able to achieve his goals and attain his full potential.

I am going to contact Rachel Benoit also from World Canada Youth, "Jeunesse Canada Monde" (http://www.cwy-jcm.org/), a leader in developing international educational programs where young people learn through experience.

More important, I supported a lot of organizations through the TIG website, i also got to know their mandates and their missions, so maybe I will contact them in the future, so they can collaborate with TIG in organizing workshops, events in Quebec ... You can see these organizations that fight for a better world and promote peace, education, entrepreneurship .... by browsing through my profile : http://profiles.takingitglobal.org/yassirovich

I also made some commitments but I even created a new one called: “Engage to persevere”, in French “S'engager à persévérer quels que soient les obstacles.” The number of supporters is just starting, let's keep going ! I believe that if you wanna succeed in your life in each and every single project that you launch, you have to be self-confident, motivated but especially PERSEVERANT, so commit to persevere at: http://commit.takingitglobal.org/321

I took part also to three events that happened in Montreal:
"Tournée des universités" in Rosemount's Cegep.
"Soup and Science" in McGill University
"McGill Open Day"

To conclude, I enjoyed my work as part of the CLC team and I invited many of my friends to join TIG and explore its useful and amazing tools and resources.

Take care !

Insuring primary education to children / Assurer l'éducation primaire aux enfants / Asegurarles la educación primaria a los niños.
About this commitment: Insuring primary education to children / Assurer l'éducation primaire aux enfants / Asegurarles la educación primaria a los niños.

Translations available in: English (original) | French | Spanish | Italian | German | Portuguese | Swedish | Russian | Dutch | Arabic

French will follow, then Spanish (hope I had an English/Arabic keyboard to translate it to Arabic too).

Primary education is the first stage of compulsory education. It is very important to insure primary education to children if we want a better future for humanity especially in some developing countries. In fact, the major goals of primary education are achieving basic literacy and numeracy amongst all pupils, as well as establishing foundations in science, geography, history and other social sciences. These goals are mandatory and extremely important for each individual in his first stage of life. So, commit to do your best to promote primary education and its importance for children. Thanks in advance to all of you !! IT IS THE RIGHT OF CHILDREN TO BE EDUCATED AND AT LEAST TO RECEIVE A PRIMARY EDUCATION ! Help us promote this commitment and project for a better world.
